This is just a reminder that if  A) you want to participate or B) you have a friend you want to participate in this round, you need to send anemail to spljmods (at) gmail (dot) com by tomorrow!

To vouch for someone:  We need their username, email, and the actual vouch for them as a swapper.  They will not receive an invitation without it, and there will not be a second round of invitations.  And to invite you, we need to know you want to do it again as well!

I tend to create little summer projects for myself every summer. Last summer I got my massage therapist license at a community college and the summer before the daunting task of a sweater (which I ended up finishing before the start of my senior year, September 2005). Well this summer I decided that I was going to be the best fraturnity sweetheart ever and knit my boyfriend's fraturnity a blanket that they could hang up in the window of their house, use on their couch, or hang up on the wall of their house (which will be a brand new house by August of this year.

I'm just having alittle bit of an issue of a pattern to pick or a design to use. I definatly want to use it in the fraturnity colors (purple, green, gold), I'm at the point of indecisive-ness (not a real word but it fits!) on whether or not that I want to use the crest (http://www.lambdachi.org). I definatly want the letters on the afghan.

Any help is greatly appriecated. Ive looked online at greek stores that specilize in making blankets and the details are soo intrecet. And I have untill August to finish it. Pattern suggestions are greatly appriecated.

Thanks so much in advance!!

My final package just arrived.  It had a great beginner sock kit that my pal made up for me with two balls of  DG Confetti sock yarn, a pattern,  the appropriate DPNs AND some yummy tea.  I'm off to take a quick break, have some tea and have a read through the pattern.  Can't wait to get started.

Thanks Ann!

Thank-you so much to my secret pal smellen_of_troy !!

I was out of town working way up north in Fort McMurray last week, so I wasn't home when the package came. My husband taunted me with text messages saying that I had lots of cool stuff in the mail.

I was so excited to open this, and I LOVE both the delicious skein of misti alpaca and the SLIPPERS!!! she made me.

I am often cold, and wear slippers in the house all the time unless it is a boiling summer day. In Canada, it's rude to wear your shoes in somebody else's house, and I have taken to hauling my cheapo/old-man/bought-at-zellers slippers to my friends' houses.

These are so much cuter and convenient, and they will live in my bag at all times when not on my feet.

cut for large pictures of my large feetCollapse )

You've spoiled me rotten, Smellen!

In honour of your semaine provincial de la fierte francaise: MERCI!!!!!

I want to say a big huge thank you to Jenni for my amazing final package, inside i found Lindor Lindt chocolates, which are my favourite sweet In the whole world! I forced myself to share them but now they are long gone.
I got my package last week, I'm so sorry Jenni that I forgot to post my thank you earlier but I have been somewhat distracted but the other non-confectionary goodies of my package made me sooo happy! I finally have stitch markers and a knitting needle gauge =D I also have some spiffy new knitters sewing needles and a lovely fluffy ball of patons spirit in berry - YUM.
I am going to post pictures of all my amazing packages, what has happened to the yarn and a better final thank you, probably this evening. Definately once I have cleaned the house and can concentrate.

THANK YOU JENNI! You have been an amazing first secret pal and I really enjoyed the swap =D *hugs*
